4th International Skimboarding Competition

This year's Penang 4^th International Skimboarding Competition 2010 is organised by The Penang State Government, Penang Sports Council and Penang Skimboarding Association and the event will be held on Saturday 24^th July 2010 at Hard Rock Hotel Penang (beach side) from 9AM to 6PM.

This year's international event will showcase athletes from Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Philippine and Singapore. The theme for this year is “Beach Carnival” whereby there will be activities and games, food, snacks and refreshments, Hanna tattoo, hair braiding etc. throughout the day. There will also be free paddle board workshop or SUP workshop, wind surfing workshop and skimboarding workshop throughout the day.

For those interested in joining the competition, registration will be open from 8AM – 9AM on the day itself and a RM30 entry fee is required per entry. Payment of entry fee will include one goodie bag from Quiksilver and 1 goodie bag provided by Penang Skimboarding Association.

VIP guest for the day will be YB Puan Lydia Ong Kok Fooi from Youth & Sports, Women, Family and Community Development, YB Tuan Teh MP of Tanjung Bungah and Tuan Haji Akbar Bin Haji Mustapha Pengarah of MSN. Arrival of VIPs will be at 4.30PM just in time for finals and prize giving ceremony including closing ceremony.

The first ever “night skimboarding session” will start from 8PM to 11PM. Six 400w spotlights will shine to the sea and at the same time there will be live music and primier of skimboarding videos. After competition party and dinner will be held at Hard Rock Cafe and Pizzaria by the pool.
